The tool was developed due to the need to make continous sheet edges of 180° on a CNC guided punching machine.
These flanged edges on sheets are required for e.g.
- cages for animals
- radiators
- different boards
- different cabinets
- cable guard in electronic boards.
The basic idea for flanged edges is to remove the sharp-edged steel to avoid cutting danger without fixing a plastic protection.
The production of the sheet protection edges is realized in a very intricated process at the moment. This means that the costs for tools and set-up time are very high as well.
The solution for these problems can be found in the new
PASS PS180-Bend
Due to the special form of the punch and the die, working like a plough top-down and bottom-up simultaneously, a 1-meter edge length can be produced on a CNC punching machine within 30
seconds.
Further advantages for this tool are:
- Due to the continous tool, different lengths are possible
